For those of you who have been praying for my dad (he went into the hospital a few weeks back because of a minor stroke and fluid in his right lung), thank you so much for your kindness and care. It lifted my spirits everytime I saw a message in my email that said "Someone just prayed for you!"

My dad passed away this past Tuesday April 4th. My family is grieving, but we are okay. My mom has her faith in God, and that keeps her going.

My mom will now get a reduced portion of Dad's pension, and she will lose her social security and only get my dad's social security. This is troublesome. I don't know how she'll be able to afford the mortgage and other expenses.

There continues to be transactions on my parents' joint account that my brother says is fraud, but I suspect he is taking money from them--multiple $100 withdrawals every month from the same ATM. We have to be careful about confronting him, because my mom believes he does no wrong, and she gets very defensive and very upset so easily. She is 84 years old and has no clue how things work in the business/finance side of things, so she will side with him no matter what evidence I or my husband present.

I want to believe it really is fraud from some unknown person. But mounting evidence says it's not some faceless person--but instead my brother

The most recent mortgage payment bounced. I am so scared she is going to lose her home. My stomach hurts everyday with worry.

If he is doing this to her, how could he? Just how can anyone take advantage of their mother like that? All I want is for my mom to be safe and as happy as possible in her last years.

I don't know what I'm asking for as far as prayer goes. I feel pretty hopeless.
