A 5-WEEK LIFE GROUP EXPERIENCE

Momentum is a 5-week Life Group experience focused on finding greater connection with God and with others. Aligned with the weekend messages, our church will look at the early church in the book of Acts to discover how the power and presence of the Holy Spirit still connects us today with God and other believers. The group experience includes engaging video content along with a full-color study guide.

What if i’m already in a life group?

That’s great! We are asking that ALL Life Groups participate in Habits. We are also asking existing Life Group members to prayerfully consider starting a new group around Habits. Doing so might be a great way to re-ignite your faith and also include people that might not otherwise join a Life Group.

What if I’m new to the church and don’t know anyone?

You can find a few friends (whether they go to Friends church or not) and do the study together, or you can join a new group through our group launch process. Both options are available through the links above.

What if I want to join an existing Life Group?

Go for it! If you know someone in a group and want to join them, just ask them. Otherwise, come to our group launch event on Sept 9 to get into a new group.

Can I invite new people to join my existing Life Group to study Habits with us?

Absolutely. We are asking all existing Life Groups to pray about who the Lord might be leading them to invite and include. That said, the first option is to prayerfully consider stepping out of your existing Life Group and starting a new group around Habits. Both are good options. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you.

What if my group already has selected a curriculum for the Fall?

For the sake of unity we are asking that all Life Groups participate in Habits. It will be an incredible experience to share together, and it will provide great momentum for our church. You don’t want to miss this!

What if my Life Group doesn’t meet every week?

We are encouraging groups to meet weekly during this 6-week series. It will benefit the group to stay aligned with the weekend sermons. That said, groups can still meet every other week.

Do I have to hear the weekend sermon to participate in weekly curriculum?

No! The curriculum is designed as an independent resource. But the weekend sermons during this series will align with the curriculum, so there will be a benefit to hearing the weekend sermons.

Do we have to purchase a DVD or will the video content be available online?

You can purchase a DVD for $10 through the link above, or you can access the video content online for free. The link will be available soon.

Will a DVD come with each study guide or will there be just one DVD per life group?

The DVD and study guide are purchased separately. You only need 1 DVD per group, but all group members will need a copy of the study guide.

Why is there a per person cost?

HABITS has a per person cost because every person will need the study guide ($10) for notes, devotional material, etc.

Is the content on the DVD intended to be viewed together by the group during the meeting?

Yes! Each week will have 15-20 minutes of video content, and then the group can use the study guide with the discussion questions for the rest of the group time.

Will the study guide have daily devotional options for participants to do during the week?

Yes! There are daily devotionals every day during the 6 weeks, including various options for practicing the Habit of the week (spiritual discipline of the week).

What is the date this study begins?

The first week of the curriculum will begin the week of Sept 16 however, if you are a new group or your group hasn’t met for a few months, we encourage your group to meet on the week of September 9 as a welcome (back).

When will we be able to pick up the study guides and DVDs?

Materials are available for purchase online through the link above. However, they will not be ready for distribution until the weekend of Sept 1-2 (at the earliest). We’ll have them for sale or pick-up during the weekend services or at the church offices during the week.
