SCHOLARSHIP A STUDENT FOR CAMP

frequently asked questions

Throughout history, God has chosen to communicate with people through the use of outdoor settings. Summer Camp gives kids a chance to get out of their daily routine and to invite their friends to do the same. Here, they are able to connect with God and with each other. So, in this “wilderness” setting, kids will have an opportunity to think about their lives and be able to start living the abundant life of Christ.
Wagon Train is a fun, rustic summer camp for kids age 8-11 years old. This Old West experience includes sleeping in a real covered wagons, learning Archery, riding canoes around the pond, and exploring Fort Logan (Hume’s three-story island fort).

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Camp-wide recreation games like Capture the Flag, the Water Carnival, and Hume’s awesome night game Stampede will have your child talking about camp for years to come. We’ll also sit around a campfire singing worship songs, memorize scripture, watch amazing skits about the Bible performed by the Wagon Train staff and hear each morning and evening the Good News of Jesus and his love for us.

The price of camp is $599, a deposit of $119.80 is required upon registration with the balance being due by May 15. There are limited spots, so please sign up quickly! Students may also want to plan for additional spending money as Hume offers snacks and special souvenirs for purchase. Please note that students will need to bring a disposable lunch for the ride to camp as well as $10 to cover the lunch cost on the ride home from camp.

The $599.00 cost includes transportation to and from camp, counselor fees and the camper’s food and lodging for 6 nights/7days up at Hume. Friends Church believes so much in the summer camp experience that they have automatically provided a $90 scholarship per camper for Wagon Train. If needed, additional limited scholarships are available.

*Canceled registration must occur by March 1 in order to receive a full refund. Otherwise, no refunds will be given after March 1.

We don’t want finances to ever be the reason your kid doesn’t go to camp. We are offering monthly payment plans, if you are interested in finding out more information about this please contact Tiffany D’Anna at 714-777-7382 or email her at tiffanyd@friends.church
