Rooted | Leader Resources

Frequently Asked Questions

We believe this experience will be invaluable for every person who is willing to invest the time to fully experience all that is offered in Rooted.
We trust that Rooted will become an essential entry point for people desiring to get connected with Friends, both in group life and serving as a volunteer. In time, we hope it will become the single door to all aspects of our church life together. As a church, we are so committed to the value of this baseline resource that all of our staff has already experienced Rooted along with over 100 of our group leaders.
Yes, everyone needs to register, but you do not have to pay again, unless you want a new book. Please contact Drew Heim, Life Group Director, to find out how to register free of charge.
Yes. We will offer informational training updates every Sunday at 9:00am in Room 317 for the 10 weeks. All leaders must attend these trainings. If you are occasionally unable to attend a meeting for some reason, there will be a resources link available online. Also, we encourage all leaders to designate a co-leader if they don’t already have one. This person can attend the leader meetings as well or attend in your place if you have a scheduling conflict.
Each leader will receive a Facilitator/Leader guide that will be a valuable resource. You’ll receive this at our first leader meeting at 9:00am in Room 317. There will be other supplies needed throughout the 10 weeks and they will be distributed at our leader meetings, as needed.
We will have a book for each registered person at our leaders’ meeting on April 10. Please make sure each member of your group has registered so they will receive a book. The homework will begin on the first day your first group meets, so it’s vital that group members have their books at that time.
Yes. This will be an essential time of preparation for your group meetings. Even if you have previously been through the Rooted content, each training update will provide reminders, resources and encouragement that you’ll find helpful.
At our first leader training session, we’ll tell you about a resource link you can access online that will provide weekly information. Although the resource link will assist you, it cannot fully replace the benefit of attending the weekly update meetings. We strongly encourage you to be at every leader meeting, if at all possible.
Yes. But please note that the Rooted content is best experienced on a weekly basis. Therefore, if possible, make every effort to meet weekly. This will enable your group to stay on track with the various scheduled Rooted experiences and the weekly update meetings. If your group can only meet bi- weekly, please discuss this with a Rooted staff member so that we can assist you. We strongly discourage groups from trying to discuss two weeks of content in one week.
First, please contact Drew Heim, Life Group Director, if you have not already done so, to make him aware of your interest in leading. Drew will contact you once we’ve selected the group leaders. If you’ve been selected, you will need to be at the leader trainings beginning on April 10 at 9:00am in Room 317. You will be given your group roster and room assignment prior to the Rooted launch on January 10.
